西原キャンディーズの一人、長崎トヨさんの歌と解説です。150年前に池間島から宮古島の西原地区に移住させられた人たちの故郷を思う気持ちを歌っています。
Toyo Nagasaki sings and explains the meaning of an old folk song. It describes how the villagers of Nishihara, who were forced by the Ryukyuan Kingdom to move to MIyako from the Ikema Island some 150 years ago, yearned to go back to their native island. She was 90 when the recording was made.
